Renovation of the « Porche » building.
Preserved as part of the urban metamorphosis of the « La Confluence » district on the Rhône side in the city of Lyon, the « Porche » building of the former wholesale market is currently being renovated.
At the heart of the project, there is the « Marché Gare », the « SMAC » (Regional Concert Hall for Contemporary Music) certified concert and residency hall, which will see its capacity increased from 300 to 400.
The project offers a “lively, federative and festive space, representative of the teeming, alternative spirit of the Regional Concert Hall (« SMAC »)”. The concert hall’s capacity will be increased from 300 to 400.
The new organization of the building will also make room for new uses that will encourage encounters between artists and all audiences.
A bar, a second stage area, a cultural café, a meeting room, and offices will be the newly implemented spaces for exchanges.
Audiences will benefit from optimal reception and concert conditions. Professionals will find a venue that can be adapted and upgraded as new ideas emerge.
The result will offer a complete and uninterrupted experience for all audiences.
Créafactory brought its support and experience to calibrate the volumes and morphology of the main hall and the Bar stage.
The stage equipment has been designed to be as flexible and technically advanced as possible so that artists can be accommodated in the best possible conditions.
The scenographic project blends perfectly with the architectural project, restoring this legendary venue in Lyon to its glory days and its reputation for cutting-edge programming of amplified music.
